Improved SIP capabilities for the Aastra 800 soft PBX platform along with greater DECT functionality incorporating call encryption and voice quality are set to spur greater demand for the systems, says Nimans.
The SIP theme continues with the latest version of Aastra's BusinessPhone (BP) system now becoming SIP enabled.
Nimans' Aastra Business Manager, Allan Merten, said: "The latest version of the Aastra 800 provides support for the Aastra 6739i high end SIP handset and also benefits from DECT XQ technology which provides enhanced voice quality in highly reflective areas such as metal shelving within warehouses. In addition Aastra has created the potential for DECT encryption per device for much easier programming."
Business Phone v9 meanwhile has also undergone a significant revamp, predominantly around SIP extensions with new features including SIP DECT, SIP expansion modules and also SIP softphone support.
'There's no getting away from the fact that for more and more business users their mobile device has become the comms tool of choice.'
